Completion of = Harnessing=20 Fairway System in Yangtze Upper Reach

 

After five years of hard work, = the fairway=20 harnessing project of Chongqing onwards fairways on the Yangtze River = has been=20 completed with far improved conditions of navigation. Now even in = draught=20 season, 1,000DWT vessels or 3,000DWT barge train may sail directly from=20 Chongqing to Yibin.

The mileage of = Chongqing=A1=AAYibin section is=20 370 km. Since 2005 Changjiang Waterway Bureau started three phases of = harnessing=20 project and upon completion the draft was deepened from 1.8m to 2.7m = with=20 fairway grade uplifted from fourth grade to third that can = accommodate    1,000DWT ship = throughout the=20 year, which strongly consolidates safety of navigation.
